What to do if you don't want to blog

Everywhere you look you're being told that you should be blogging to market your equestrian business (or indeed any business). There are lots of good reasons to blog, we've covered some here 10 Reasons why equestrian entrepreneurs should be blogging  but you really don't want to blog

a) Because you feel you don't have time.

b) Because you've tried blogging before and hated it.

c) Because you don't want to commit to blogging on a regular basis.

d) Because you hate writing.

e) Because you're already struggling to keep all your social media accounts up to date.

f) Just because you DON'T WANT TO!

WHAT'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR BLOGGING DILEMMA ?

Here's an idea for you but first let's have a quick look at what a blog is anyway:

It's content, frequently updated content yes, but it is still content and content is just what your website needs.

So if ponyhour told you that you could have most of the benefits of blogging without committing to writing a blog on a regular basis would that make you happy?

Here's how

HAVE A LIST OF ARTICLES ON YOUR WEBSITE !

A page on your navigation bar titled ARTICLES with a list of links to several articles is going to be almost as good for your website as a blog and has the advantage of only having to be created once, okay you might need to update articles from time to time but you won't be having to think up something to blog about 2 or 3 times a week.

HOW MANY ARTICLES?

We'd say at least 5 to 10 on a relevant subject to get you started, more if you can manage it, remember you don't even have to write them yourself you could out source.

4 TIPS TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR ARTICLES

1. Just like blog posts and social media posts good quality images help gain reader interest

2. Link from one article to another in your copy eg. we include a link to our 10 Reasons why equestrian entrepreneurs should be blogging  blog post in the first paragraph.

3. At the end of each article have a link to the next article on your list

and

4. Always include a link sending readers back to the list of articles.

So there you go no more guilt about not blogging!

Comments

  1. I often think about giving up on my blogs, but I'm always drawn back again. I think it helps a lot if you are passionate about your topic. I'm not in it for the money (though it would be nice) but because I love what I write about. It's also a way to keep in with horses when I am unable to physically. The only blog that I have never deleted or moved is my horse blog :)
